Manufacturing Video Production, Show Off Your Capabilities

Manufacturing Video Production

You've spent a lot of money building out your capabilities and want to show them off! Companies engaged in manufacturing want to show their plant or processes to potential clients in an easy way. It’s not always practical to bring the client to your plant. Travel can be prohibitive and production schedules don't always sync correctly. But you can always show them a video featuring your plant and processes. That is why manufacturing video production is so essential to companies who manufacture.

What is a manufacturing video?

Manufacturing video allows you to inform and educate no matter where your client is, when they watch or what language they speak. Don't forget your audience prefers an explainer video over most other forms of outreach. Video has some of the highest interaction rates of any marketing efforts. Video is an easy way to explain what you do in a consistent manner that's repeatable. The message from the video today will be the same tomorrow. After production you have a promotional video that your team can share in many different ways.

How might your company use a manufacturing video?

Company manufacturing videos are often used on the company website , social media, in e-blasts, trade shows, job fairs, sales and marketing efforts and investor relations.  Really, the use of a video for manufacturing is limitless. Industrial video production is video content that can be used repeatedly to reinforce your marketing efforts.

Acclaim Media has been producing manufacturing video for clients both big and small.  Producing this content is a large part of our video production services. We focus on what makes your processes, your physical plant and your people different.

We find ways to show clients what you produce and how you produce it.  This makes your viewer more receptive to your sales efforts and marketing messaging. Video also gives a viewer the ability to pass the content to others in their organization or elsewhere who might benefit from seeing it to experience it for themselves.

Video allows you to document your manufacturing process and show it off.  If no one knows you’ve invested in a state of the art manufacturing facility you are really doing your brand a disservice.  Tell the world, through video production.

Manufacturing videos can be produced in several ways.  Both methods start with a meeting so we can understand your needs and process.  We like to visit the customer so we can begin to envision the video production from the simple tour they provide.  This is really important before beginning the video production process. This information should be completed before we begin the production phase.

How do you produce a video for manufacturing companies?

Really your job is to call us, schedule an appointment, and we’ll handle everything else. After we gather your information and goals there are three logical paths to the production process we consider for your manufacturing video:

► We travel a camera crew to your facility to record your people, processes and plant.  This works well when there’s a lot to show that's “visible”.  Think of a production or manufacturing line.  It is easy to schedule a video shoot to record and explain what makes you different.  This also is the time to arrange for any interviews if they are necessary. You can see this technique in this manufacturing video example.

In this example Gold Eagle wanted to produce a “How It’s Made” video for their iconic fuel stabilizer, “STA-BIL”.  The goal of this video was to show consumers all that goes into making the product.  Product videos are a great way to show processes involved to your target audience.

► Sometimes because of the processes being displayed there is no physical way to shoot video. Or maybe it’s better explained in a different method.  Something too small, in an enclosed environment or not obvious to the naked eye.  In those cases animation is called for.  Another important question we ask is, what kind of animation our client is looking for, 2d or 3d animation?  This manufacturing video was created to show the processes involved inside of a tank for the petroleum industry.

The test probes Magnetrol makes takes measurements on the inside of a sealed tank at a refinery.  There is really no way to shoot video of what is happening inside of the tank.  Animated marketing videos are a great way to explain the product to a potential customer.

► Lastly, sometimes a “hybrid” of the two styles works best.  Shoot video of what we can, then supplement to clarify with animation.  In our opinion this is really the best way to produce a manufacturing video.  Here’s an example of what industrial video production looks like for yet another of our clients.

In this example Nalco Water wanted a better way to explain their user panel.  This industrial video allows the viewer to experience what a new control panel might look like in their plant.  Animation in this example is so real, it is hart to tell what is “real” and what is animation.
